Cosmetic Injectables
Sunekos
Sunekos is an injectable skin-quality treatment that combines non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid with a defined blend of amino acids, which are building blocks used by the skin to make collagen and elastin. It is not designed to add volume or reshape the face. Instead, it is used to support hydration, texture and the appearance of fine lines, and different formulations exist for different areas, including the delicate skin around the eyes. Published studies are mostly small, so it should be seen as a gradual, supportive treatment rather than a dramatic one. Whether it is appropriate, and which formulation and area are suitable, is decided after medical assessment by Dr. Areej Albisher; results vary.

What to expect, recovery and risks
Small amounts are placed with a fine needle or cannula; small bumps, redness and pinpoint bruising are common and usually settle within days. Swelling can be more noticeable around the eyes. As with any injection, infection, nodules and allergic reactions are possible though uncommon. A course of several sessions spaced a week or more apart is typical, and any improvement develops gradually.
Common questions
How is Sunekos different from Profhilo?
Both use hyaluronic acid and target skin quality rather than volume. Sunekos also contains a specific amino-acid blend and is given as a short series; the more suitable option depends on assessment.
Can it be used under the eyes?
A dedicated formulation is used for the area around the eyes in suitable patients. Dark circles have several causes, so the cause is assessed first.
When may changes be noticed?
Any change is gradual over the course of treatment and the following weeks. The degree of improvement varies.
