Cosmetic Injectables
Sculptra
Sculptra is an injectable treatment based on poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible material that acts as a collagen stimulator rather than as a conventional filler. Instead of adding immediate volume that stays in place, it prompts a gradual tissue response, so any change tends to develop over weeks to months as the body's own collagen framework responds. For this reason Sculptra is generally considered where gradual, diffuse support of facial volume or skin structure is the goal, rather than precise contour shaping in a single visit. Treatment is usually planned as a course of sessions spaced over time, with review between appointments. Suitability, the areas treated, the number of sessions and the degree of change depend on individual medical assessment by Dr. Areej Albisher, and results vary between patients.

Common questions
Is there downtime?
Usual activities can often be resumed shortly afterwards. Swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising may occur at the injection points and generally settles over days; post-treatment massage instructions may be given.
When may results become visible?
Any change is gradual because it depends on a collagen response, and it is usually assessed over weeks to months rather than immediately. Sculptra does not aim to produce the instant effect of a conventional filler.
How many sessions may be recommended?
A course of several sessions spaced over time is common, with review between appointments. The recommended number depends on individual assessment and how the tissue responds.
