May help with

  • Unwanted facial or body hair
  • Ingrown hairs and razor irritation
  • Excess hair alongside medical assessment
  • Selected pigmented or vascular lesions

Treatment areas

  • Face
  • Underarms, arms and legs
  • Back and chest
  • Bikini area

What to expect, recovery and risks

The area is shaved beforehand and cooling is used during treatment; each pulse feels like a quick snap. Redness and bumps around follicles are common for hours to a day or two. Risks include burns, blistering, lighter or darker patches, and rarely paradoxical increased hair growth, so recent tanning and photosensitising medicines must be discussed. Multiple sessions spaced several weeks apart are needed because hair grows in cycles, and occasional maintenance is common.

Common questions

Is laser hair removal permanent?

It gives long-term reduction, and many people have far less hair, but some regrowth over time is common and maintenance sessions may be needed.

Is it suitable for darker skin?

Yes, with the right approach. The 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength is generally preferred for darker skin tones, with settings chosen carefully.

Does it work on light or grey hair?

Laser relies on pigment in the hair, so white, grey, red and very light blond hair usually respond poorly.
