Body Treatments
Shockwave Therapy
Aesthetic Shockwave Therapy uses externally applied acoustic pressure waves that are delivered through a handpiece to selected body tissues. The waves travel through the skin into the treated area, where they may support local circulation and tissue response. In suitable patients, this may improve the appearance of selected body-contour and skin-texture concerns, such as the appearance of cellulite, localized uneven texture and selected areas of tissue firmness or fibrosis. It is a treatment for appearance and tissue quality: it does not permanently remove cellulite, does not promise fat destruction or a specific reduction in body measurements, and does not cause major weight loss or replace exercise and healthy lifestyle habits. It is also distinct from shockwave used for kidney stones or orthopedic injuries. Settings and the number of sessions depend on individual medical assessment, and results vary.

Common questions
Is there downtime?
Usual activities can generally be resumed straight afterwards. Temporary redness, warmth or mild tenderness in the treated area may occur and typically settles within a short time.
When may results become visible?
Any change is gradual and is assessed over a course of sessions rather than after a single visit. The degree of change varies between patients and cannot be promised.
How many sessions may be recommended?
A series of sessions spaced over several weeks is common, with review in between. The number depends on the concern, the area treated and individual medical assessment.
